Questions & Answers

Can I speak to someone about specific questions?

Absolutely. Please call us anytime. TOLL FREE at 855-445-5776 ext 1.

What is the history of your program?

Rock Star University (formerly Lemon Bay Performing Arts Academy) was established in 2001. Since then our academy has served well over a thousand campers ages five through eighteen doing various camps, classes, and workshops. Campers train alongside professional choreographers, vocal coaches, and musicians that have performed in rock concerts, national Broadway tours, regional theatre, and operas. Recently, our speciality shifted from musical theatre to creating our own pop rock concerts, after our success with High School Musical, HSM2, and our own Rock Star Concert last summer.

What is the staff to camper ratio?

We aim for a 5 to 1 ratio with professional instructors, support staff, counselors, and counselors in training.

Are background checks completed on staff? What are their qualifications to to instruct my child?

Background checks are completed on each staff member. All paid staff fingerprinted, go through thorough interview processes, and have many years of experience working in the performing arts and with youth. We are highly selective of our staff who love to work with kids, inspire them to achieve and immerse them in the excitement of the collaborative nature of the arts.

Many of our instructors have spent years performing in bands, on tour, in Regional Professional Theatre, National Tours, Broadway, and Off Broadway. Many of them have worked with us in the past either as instructors or on the creative team for our shows. Many of our instructors are also teachers or professors during the school year.

What do my fees cover?

Fees cover rental fees to rehearse at clean, well air conditioned, large rehearsal facilities, our final concert 800+ seat venues, complete with concert lighting and special effects. Fees also cover our professional staff that work closely with your child to give them a quality experience alongside their support staff that alleviate all fears, create strong bonds, and instill self confidence. Fees also cover the costs of invited talent scouts, casting directors, and talent agency directors who are in attendance at each final concert. Each camper receives a camp shirt and daily snacks.

Where are camps being held?

Depending on our enrollment numbers, camps will be held at various locations in each city such as schools, private schools, churches, community recreation centers, theaters, etc. All campers will receive detailed information upon enrollment of their rehearsal locations. Campers in each city come together for their concert.
